One Jayhawk connection can change your world
Our program and the KU Alumni Association collaborate to connect the vast network of MSP alumni with current KU students. By creating a profile in the KU Alumni Mentoring Network, current students can discover alumni and mentors in similar fields for professional development and guidance. We also invite MSP alumni to serve as mentors or find a mentor.

"As an undergraduate, the Multicultural Scholars Program (MSP) provided me with a community of diverse students and a great mentor. I met my graduate advisor during a lunch that the MSP hosted. In May 2011, I spoke about my upcoming trip to Kenya to study Swahili and my passion for community health. Another MSP program director, Dr. Steve Fawcett, approached me about an opportunity to apply for an internship at the Center for Community Health and Development—a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre—after my trip to Kenya. After completing my internship from 2011 to 2012, I had the opportunity to travel to Kenya again to intern for the WHO in the summer of 2012. Afterward, I decided to join the Center for Community Health and Development where I worked as a Graduate Research Assistant and also received my Ph.D. in Behavioral Psychology and my Masters in Public Health in May 2017."
