Social and Cultural Activities
Spring 2020 - MSP Students will be heading to The Color Purple at the Lied Center of Kansas!
Our goal is to graduate engaged, well-rounded, community and civic-minded scholars and leaders. With this in mind, the MSP supports your attendance at cultural and artistic performances during the course of the year and requires your participation in a monthly program meeting. The cultural enrichments will include your fellow area scholars and Program Director, and could include musical performances, plays and theater productions, visits to museums, lectures, or special exhibits. While not every meeting involves a cultural outing, all program meetings build community and foster communication within the MSP area groups. You will learn and grow with fellow scholars, share meals and conversation, and establish friendships and supportive relationships in a collaborative environment.
I met so many new friends and people, got to attend really cool events at the Lied Center, and got to help out with service projects. Plus the back to school BBQ was the best! ~ Adrienne Duarte, Geology
Without MSP I wouldn’t have gotten to meet such a diverse group of people from every different background imaginable through program events, cultural events, workshops and my spring alternative break to New Orleans. ~ Sean Tapia, Journalism
