Supporting MSP Students within the KU Community

Individualized Mentoring

Multicultural Scholars work closely with a KU faculty mentor, who serves as a primary contact as they navigate life as a KU student. As a scholar, your mentor would meet with you one-on-one throughout the course of the academic year. Your mentor will guide you in exploring and implementing strategies for maximizing your career goals. Also, you will review coursework with your mentor on a regular basis to encourage your academic excellence. Your director is your first resource when you need guidance on an issue related to both academics and/or campus life.

The advising sessions were tremendous. Having a professor there to guide and assist me if I had any questions or was having a rough time in a class really made a huge difference.  It was also nice to have someone there to congratulate you after a good semester.”  ~ Katie Cantu, Education

As a transfer student, the MBSP helped me adjust to life at a major university. MBSP ensured I stayed focused throughout college and prepared me for professional life after undergrad.”  ~ Phillips Iheme, Business
